Good Fcking Food
Fri, Mar. 27th, 2026 17:44The new Slayyyter album (WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA) is out and what can I say, it fucking slaps. Definitely worth the wait. It hits right in that niche where you're kinda still partying but you're also looking at the lyrics, going "oof," and anything even remotely pop/dance/electronic related needs more of that darker/grittier vibe, imho.
The first artist that I noticed just unabashedly having darker themes combined with more danceable music like this was Tove Lo, but that was... *does math* almost 12 years ago (good fucking god). And back then that kind of music was not the genre I listened to, so I probably missed some great artists. All the better that I found Slayyyter a few months ago. I hope the album sells well and there's some recognition for it! (In fact, I just ordered the album while typing this entry, lol.)
On a random note, I think I also recognised some Marina (and the Diamonds) Electra Heart influence around the edges of UNKNOWN LOVERZ. Nice.
